Arthur Joseph DeBaise, 84, of Walnut Street, Meadville, passed away, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born on April 14, 1933 in Meadville, a son of Joseph DeBaise and Mary Euliano DeBaise. He married Fannie "Petie" Wygant on October 31, 1953. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2014.
He attended Meadville Area Senior High School and served his country with the US Army from 1953-1955.
Arthur was employed with American Brakeshoe for over 40 years and worked in security at the Crawford County Court House for 17 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Italian Civic Club and a lifetime member of Huidekoper VFW Post 2006.
Arthur enjoyed going out to eat, golfing, going to the casino, and traveling, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by three daughters, Susan Szalewicz of Meadville, Deni DeBaise of Meadville, and Karen DeBaise and her partner Robert Owens of Erie; grandchildren, Amy Lawrence and her husband Blair of Meadville, Carla Szalewicz, and Michael Szalewicz of Meadville, and their father Ted Szalewicz; great grandchildren, Brett and Brady Lawrence; brothers, Andrew DeBaise and his wife Diane of Meadville and Sylvester DeBaise of Meadville; a dear companion, Shirley Barnes of Meadville and her family; and many devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his wife, Fannie; he was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Mary "Nenan" Phillips and Rose DeBaise.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, March 13th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.
Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery.
