Arthur's Story

Arthur David Shaw, age 75, of Meadville, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born in Meadville on May 17, 1942; the son of Floyd Arthur Shaw and Grace Viola (Bowes) Shaw.
Arthur and Mary Rosalin Swogger were married on August 27,1966; Mary passed away on July 16, 2016.
Arthur worked as a welder for both: Pipeline Systems of Meadville and Dad's Products (on the construction crew). Arthur was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War, on the Island of Tokashiki. He enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving Arthur are: a daughter Diane Marie Rodgers (Adam) of Meadville; 2 sons: Arthur David Shaw Jr. (Jennifer) of Union City, and Timothy James Shaw (Trina) of Atlantic. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: David Arthur Shaw, Michael Edwin Shaw, Grace Pearl Shaw, Dana Jaelynn Shaw, Tyler James Shaw,and Ryan James Rodgers; Arthur's brother Edward Charles Shaw also survives; as well as 2 brothers -in-law Donald Stephen Swogger (Debra) of Columbus, Ohio; James Dale Swogger (Betty) of Saegertown; 2 sisters-in-law: Ila Jean Lena Pusbach of Meadville and Barbara Elise Barclay Pardee Shaw of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brothers: Floyd George Shaw, and Robert Donald Shaw.
Memorials may be made to Parkinsons Research or the Hospice of Crawford County.
Arthur will be interred, next to his wife, Mary, in Greendale Cemetery.
Calling hours for Arthur David Shaw will held on Tuesday, August 15, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory 614 Baldwin Street Meadville.
Arthur's funeral service will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Samuel Marchetta of Wesbury Officiating.
Arthur being a veteran, will have full military honors.
