Dana's Story

Dana Louise McQueen, 47, of Mt. Pleasant, PA, passed away, Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Excella-Latrobe Hospital after an extended hospitalization. She was born in Greensburg, PA on June 21, 1970 to the late Thomas and Beverly (Bosch) Long. She married Christopher R.M. McQueen (formerly of Meadville) on June 3, 2000.
Dana was very passionate about her her children and their education. She ran a homeschool group as well as advocating for all homeschoolers. She love to cook, travel, spend time with friends and family. She played full contact women's football for 2 1/2 years. She was trained and worked as a registered nurse, having graduated from Westmoreland County Community College.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher; her children - Johnathan O'Brien, Conor McQueen, and Sarah McQueen; her brother Thomas Long and his wife Marsha; mother-in-law Linda McQueen; sister-in-law Jennifer (McQueen) Wanner and her husband Brad; many close friends whom she considered family; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dana was a member of the Hempfield Church of Christ in Greensburg, PA, where a gathering will be held on January 17 from 6-7 pm after which a memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the the Hempfield Church of Christ, 144 Black Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
