Donald's Story

Donald Harry Green, age 90, resident of 26073 Hwy #6 & 19, Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away suddenly at his home where he had lived since 1939 on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 1, 1927, he was a son of the late Frederick Theodore Green and Hazel Mae Schultz Green.
Don worked at General Electric in Erie for a few years while owning and operating the Green Family dairy and produce farm for over 70 years. Don was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Drakes Mills. He was an avid bowler at Lost Lanes in Cambridge Springs where he was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church bowling league. His favorite pastime was visiting the casinos.
Surviving Don are four daughters - Norene Rhodes of Granger, IN; Deborah Kerr and her husband, Dennis of Cambridge Springs; Connie Leslie and her husband, Ron of Mooresville, NC; and Natalie Hanks and her husband, Harry of Cambridge Springs; a son - Donald H. Green, Jr. and his companion, Pauline Russell of Cambridge Springs; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Geraldine "Gerrie" Green who died on May 30, 2015, Don was preceded in death by a brother - Fred Green; and two sisters - Esther Clegg and Hazel "Mitzi" Smith.
