Elizabeth Wagner Sembower Cooley, age 93, on Saturday, December 23, 2017, surrounded by family during her final days. Born March 21, 1924, she was the daughter of the William and Elizabeth Wagner. She married James W. Sembower on May 18, 1946 and later married Robert H. Cooley on December 27, 1982. She is preceded in death by her husbands and siblings, William Wagner and Carol Owens. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters; Laurel A. (Herb) Porter of Conneaut Lake, Linda (Dennis) Vietmeier of Murrysville, PA, and Janice (John) McCreight of Tallmadge, OH. Her step-children: Ann (D'Lane) Wisner, Barbara (Robert) Thaw and Robert A (Franny) Cooley. Also 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Wilkinsburg High School on May 1942. She worked at Union Railroad during World War II and later married, devoting her life to her family. She worked as a secretary to the Principal at Churchill Are High School in the 1980's. She loved to read, do china painting, play the organ and most of all be with her daughters and their families.
Betty had a strong faith and was very active in Beulah Presbyterian Church activities serving as a Deacon, and with the Presbyterian Women Organization.
Her loved ones rejoice in her long life of caring, serving, and her strength and faith in God. The family would like to thank Hospice of Crawford County for the care and love they provided. A private viewing and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service will take place in the Spring at First Presbyterian Church in Meadville.
