Eugene William 'Gene' Palmer Eugene William "Gene" Palmer, 80 of Slippery Rock, PA and formerly of Cambridge Springs, PA passed away at Grove City Medical Center, Grove City, PA on Sunday, November 4, 2018.
He was born in Meadville, PA on October 30, 1938 to William Palmer and Dorothy Daughenbaugh Palmer. He was a truck driver and began his driving career for Kroger Grocery and later retiring following his working for Yellow Freight located in Detroit, MI. Gene was proud of his service as a US Marine Corp Veteran. He was tough and hard-working. He always had a project that he was working on. He enjoyed fellowship and helping friends. He was very able and did his work very well. He was of the Catholic faith.
Gene is survived by two daughters, Eugina Jackson of Lakeland, FL; Patricia Malcolm of Gulf Breeze, Florida; two sons, Vincent Palmer of Beaver Falls and Steven Palmer of Virginia; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 670 South Main St., Slippery Rock on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00am with Father Steven Neff, presiding. Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St. Slippery Rock on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery, Crawford County, PA
