Frances P. Turner
Born December 24, 1937 on the family farm in Worth Township, she was a daughter of Paul S. and Ruth M. Thomas Turner.
Ms. Turner was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School. In her early years she began working at Clinch-Tite of Sandy Lake, then became the manager of Mercer Industrial Trucks of Jackson Center for many years, then after they closed she worked for a time at Howe's and then worked for Ivex which became Alcoa all of Grove City and she retired from there in 2002.
Frances was thought of as a miracle after a horrific automobile accident several years ago, she struggled and fought to regain her health and continue her independence which she enjoyed up to her final day.
She had been a member of the Millbrook Methodist Church.
Frances enjoyed quilting and loved animals, especially her cats that she took care of faithfully, she also had a passion and a love for making good wine.
She leaves behind a brother James R. Turner, Sr. and his wife Marilyn, and a special nephew James R. Turner, Jr. and his wife Mary, all Jackson Center; also a niece Lori Walters and her daughter Alecia Palmer, Meadville and a nephew Eric Farnham and his wife Martina and their children Eric "EJ" and Ethan Farnham, Houston, Pa.
In addition to her parents, a sister Laura Margaret "Peggy" Heffern, a great nephew Ray Walters, her Aunt and Uncle Louise and William Turner and an Uncle Carl Thomas, preceded her in death.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Frances's name to The Tails of Hope at the O'Brien Animal Care Center, P.O. Box 1023, Hermitage, PA 16148
Calling Hours will be from 3 - 7 PM, Saturday (2-4-17) in the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro.
Funeral Service will be at 2:30 PM, Sunday (2-5-17) in the funeral home with Rev. Virginia LaVan Gadsby, Pastor, New Lebanon Community Church, officiating.
Interment will be in New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Twp.
