James (Jim) F. Austin, 87, of Conneautville, left his loving children, Monday, February 26, 2018. He was born in Conneautville on March 4, 1930 a son of Raymond L. Austin and Edith L. Foster Austin who preceded him in death. He married Margaret (Marge) E. Youngk on August 15, 1949 and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2011.
He attended Conneautville High School and was a graduate of Penncrest School District.
Jim held many jobs over the years. He worked for Ohio Rubber Co., drove school bus, worked for Linesville Beverage, Woodring's Detective Service, farmed and operated a Small Engine Repair shop for many years.
He was a member of the Fellows Club Fire Department, Conneautville Fire Police, Western Crawford Masonic Lodge 258, Kismet Grotto, Valley of Erie Scottish Rite 32, Crawford County Shrine Club, he was a 50+ year member of Rundell's Grange and a member of Valley Church United Methodist.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and repairing old tractors.
Jim is survived by 7 children; James R. (Robin) of Hartstown, Kathy L. (Pastor Terry) Brown of Union City, Sherry L. (Dale) of Jefferson, Ohio, Cindy S. Austin of Columbus, Ohio, Pastor John W. (Pastor Rita) Austin of Constantine, Michigan, Carol J. (Mark) Amolsch of Meadville, Kerry A. (Bill) Hoehn of Conneautville; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a sister Sara Lozier of East Sparta, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Jim."
He was also preceded in death by; a granddaughter, April Lane Austin, 1 brother-in-law Donald Lozier, a sister Mary A. Bleicher and her husband Robert, and a brother Arthur R Austin and his wife Patricia.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley Funeral Home, 1405 Main St. Conneautville. Calling hours will be at the funeral home, Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with the service being held Saturday March 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Valley Church U.M., Conneautville, Main St. Conneautville. The service will be conducted by Pastor Matt Rendulic and Rev. John Phipps.
