James Frederick Crowley, 58, of Springboro, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center after a lengthy, hard fought illness.
He was born May 5, 1959, in Meadville, PA to Joan Elizabeth (Gribus) Crowley and the late Fred Arthur Crowley. He graduated from Conneaut Valley High School Class of 1977 and Mercyhurst College in 1979 with a Business Administration Degree. He worked many years at Telepost in Linesville, PA as well as various other companies throughout the years in inventory and shipping control positions. He was also a licensed real estate agent in his youth.
During his time at Conneaut Valley he was a member of the football team and helped lead them to a District 10 Conference victory and was named an All-State player. Later in life he coached little league football. He was also a member of the wrestling team.
He raised and is survived by three daughters, Christy Crowley-Dushak and her husband John of Bethesda, MD, Courtney Blake (Crowley) and her husband Matthew of Cherry Tree, PA and Cassidy Crowley of Conneaut Lake, PA.
He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Conneautville, PA. and also a member of the American Legion.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan and was an annual season ticket holder for many years. He loved attending games and tailgating with his cousin Fred and his daughter Courtney and never missed watching a game. He enjoyed grilling and was very keen on passing that on to his daughters. He relished in a good game of poker, and was also a history and movie buff.
In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Jemetz and her husband TJ of Edinboro, PA, brothers Everett of Erie, PA, Kenneth of Bryan, TX, Michael of Memphis, TN, a grandson, Ian Blake and his unborn brother/sister, several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his father, Fred Crowley, a brother, Nicholaos Paul, grandparents, Joseph and Nellie Gribus and Fred and Ida Post, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass and Christian burial will be privately celebrated by the family at a later date.
Memorial donations may be sent to the family in care of McCauley Funeral Home in Conneautville, PA in lieu of flowers.
