James M. Moffit, age 54, of Erie passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Meadville on December 13, 1962 a son of the late Michael and Carol (Ridgeway) Moffit.
Jim was a 1980 graduate of Meadville High School. He was a driver for Lake Erie Logistics. He was an avid supporter of Farm Aid, watching NASCAR races and collecting memorabilia. Jim liked hiking and camping in the outdoors. He was a member of ABATE of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Michael Moffit.
Jim is survived by his wife, Melinda (Schnaekel) Moffit; stepson, Jerry Kuruc of Erie; sister, Marlene Moffit of Meadville; nephew, Matthew Moffit of Virginia; mother-in-law, Patricia Schnaekel; two brothers-in-law, Tim Schnaekel (Bonny) and Matt Schnaekel (Karen) both of Erie; sister-in-law, Heidi Woodrome (Anthony) of York, PA; Aunt and Uncle, Ardean and Cindy Ridgeway of Meadville; and several other aunts and uncles as well as nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 11 until the time of a service at 1 pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Blvd. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be expressed at www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com.
