Kenneth W. Sherrod age 90 of Pickerington, Ohio went to his eternal reward on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at home. Born in Meadville, PA on March 12, 1927, of the late Kenneth and Vera (Ward) Sherrod Sr. On June 26, 1954 he married Marjorie Ann Johnston: she survives.
After committing his life to Christ at the First Christian Church where D.P. Shafer was the minister, he felt a call to ministry. He attended and graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Spent 48 years in the preaching ministry across four states. Effective with Youth, he guided many Timothies who are continuing to provide leadership in various Christian endeavors. Ken was instrumental in starting Deep Valley Christian Camp in PA. Ken was born with a heart murmur which was successfully surgically corrected at age 70 when he retired and the next twenty years felt well so continued to supply pulpits until 82.
In addition to his wife, Marjorie of 63 years, Ken is survived by three sons, David of Pickerington, Thomas and his wife Carolyn (Smith), and Stephen of Lewis Center Ohio (all ordained Ministers), five grandchildren Timothy, James, Joy, Sylvia, and Mark Sherrod (Kathleen), great granddaughter Reagan, great grandson Levi, a sister Alice Sherrod McCoy (Richard) of Williston, FL, brother-in-law Richard Johnston and sister-in-law Claire Sherrod of Meadville, PA; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ward, two sisters Dorothy Haddenham, Beverly Sherrod, a brother-in-law Floyd Haddenham and a sister-in-law Sara Johnston.
Funeral service held on Thursday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. with one hour visitation prior at Worthington Christian Church, 8145 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43224.
