Madeline Theresa Holeva Barry, 86, of Meadville, passed away, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born on August 10, 1931 in Hawk Run, Pennsylvania, Armstrong County, daughter of the late John and Sophie Centko Holeva. She married Charles (Pat) Barry on October 16, 1948, he preceded her on December 26, 2016. Madeline attended Moran, PA secondary school, St. Brigid School and Meadville High School.
She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, a longtime member of the adult choir, a member of the Kismet Grottoettes, and Eastern Star of Meadville. She worked for Talon Inc., for 30 years, and for Crawford Central School District as a cafeteria Monitor for many years following retirement from Talon. More than anything, Madeline was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Allen and her husband Greg of Meadville; sons, Michael Barry and his wife Nancy of Meadville; and Patrick Barry and his wife Toni of Erie; two sisters, Delores Dennis of Greenville, PA; and Ann Allen and her husband Chuck of Quakertown, PA; also seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Madeline is preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Pisarchick and Patricia Holeva, her brother, John Holeva and grandson, Ryan Gregory Allen.
Family and friends are invited to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M., with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 at 1:00 P.M., with Father Thomas Trocchio officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Agatha Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, 10 West 71st Street, New York, NY, 10023.
