Merry was a tribute to the word "American." Her conservative patriotism was something we spoke of frequently when I stopped in at the Chinese Yankee. She was also the most gentle soul I ever met, and the kindness of her, and that of her husband, should be held up as a "torch of light in a world of darkness," a beacon for all to strive towards in their own lives.

I will miss seeing Mary around. I worked with her at the bus company. I would clean off her bus in the winter and warm it up. When I patrolled in Linesville I would see her and her husband around. She will be greatly missed. ( Psalm 23)
