Murdal's Story

Murdal C. Newsome, 64, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017.
Murdal was born in Coldwater, MS on December 20, 1953, a daughter of the late Emily (Hoskins) and Alvin Newsome.
She was a member of United Faith Fellowship Church.
Murdal retired as Office Manager of Center For Family Services. In her younger years she worked at the former American Viscose. A graduate of Meadville High School, she attended Business Classes at Penn State-Behrend College, Erie. Murdal was an ordained minister and loved her Lord. Her hobbies included crocheting, fishing and playing B.I.N.G.O. She will be sadly missed.
Murdal is survived by three children Damon Newsome and his wife Tanya, Alfonso Newsome, Marietta Newsome, all of Meadville, four grandchildren Atayvius, Ricco, Rickisha, Lanaya, three sisters Mary Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Brenda Boyd of Meadville, Curas Newsome of Erie, four brothers Alroy Newsome of Memphis, TN, Sam Nelson of Erie, Alvin Newsome, III, Marvin Newsome, both of Memphis, TN, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Murdal was preceded in death by a sister Doris Swauncy and a brother William Newsome.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 11-12 at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where A Going Home Service will be held at 12 PM with Rev. Marvin Burnett officiating.
Murdal will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery.
