He was predeceased by his beloved Carolyn in 2010; his eldest son, Arden Richard "Rick" in 1991; and his brother Robert "Bob" in 1999. He is survived by his children, Sharon Walker (Jim) of Ormond Beach, FL; Laurie Markiewicz of Daytona Beach, FL; Stephen Smith (Pam) of Oviedo, FL; Susan Fircz (Bill) of Long Island, NY; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held in Florida at a later date. The family would deeply appreciate anyone wishing to share a memory or leave a message of remembrance to the online guestbook or by mail to The Smith Family, 1296 Mayflower Drive, Daytona Beach, FL 32119.

To the family of Dick Smith,
I am the son of Robert Thomas of McCrosky Tool. On behalf of Dad and our family, I would like to extend our condolences. Dad liked Dick very much and was always very grateful for his service to McCrosky. I also had the privilege of knowing Dick --- and being the physician for his brother Bob. We are most sorry for your loss. You have our deepest sympathies.
