Richard Elmer Sari, 83, of Espyville, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at his residence.
Born June 23, 1934, in Rankin, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James and Mary Salkay Sari.
He served our country in the United States Army from February 5, 1957 until he was honorably discharged on January 15, 1959. He then served in the United States Army Reserves until April 30, 1963.
In 1983, Richard retired from Homestead Works U.S. Steel in Homestead, Pennsylvania.
He was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the American Legion. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved animals and cared deeply about children.
He is survived by friends and neighbors. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
A Graveside Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2 at St. Philip Cemetery, 401 South Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett as Celebrant. Full military honors will be provided by Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 in Meadville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
