Richard V. Small
He loved the Cleveland Browns and would watch every game, he would share stories of how his father and himself would listen to games on the radio, before they had a television. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting with anybody who was willing. He helped Boy Scout troops and coached softball and baseball in Hadley as well as for his church. He was also an avid wrestling and basketball fan. He loved to garden and give away the fruits of his labor, most notably his tomatoes and zucchini. Richard was immensely proud of his 299 game of bowling. He was also a cat lover always taking in strays. He loved to give his family creative personalized birthday cards.
Richard was loved by all and knew no strangers, he had the ability to make you feel welcome and made everyone have a good time. He had contagious laugh that boasted his wonderful personality, rumor says his laugh could be heard around the county. He was very well known as playing Santa Claus for various families, clubs, and organizations in the area.
Richard was a member of the Commodore Perry Lions Club serving as past president, and current tail-twister. He was also a lifelong member of Clarks Mills United Methodist church where he served as a trustee.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Patricia A. Tobin Small, whom he married on September 11, 1976, five children, Roni Shilling, Sandy Lake, Holly (Steve) Amy, Saegertown, Tamara (David) Campbell, Stoneboro, Richard Small, Hadley, and Ira (Lory) Nagel, Greenville, eleven grandchildren, David (Starr) Amy, Mindi Gilarno, Joshua (Millie) Nagel, Matthew (Jenna) Nagel, Cheraya (Brad) Devine, Julian Schooley, Darren Amy and fiancé Jessica, Cody Campbell, Brianna Small, Jeremiah Small, and Sydney Shilling, twelve great-grandchildren Joshua Perrine, Jaxton Amy, Hannah Bish, Hailey Amy, Drew and Weston Gilarno, Brady, Jase, Leo, and Ellie Nagel, and Logan and Lory Ann Devine.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his five brothers; his twin Ronald and brothers Robert, Donald, William, and Herman "Herk" Small.

Visitation: 1-4 pm & 6-9 pm, Wednesday, (1-10-18) in the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3813 Hadley Road, Hadley followed by a Lion's Necrology Service by the Commodore Perry Lion's Club in the church
Funeral: 11:00 am, Thursday (1-11-18) in the church with Rev. Adam J. Stump, Pastor, officiating.
Interment: Perry Chapel Cemetery
