Richard E. (Rick) Weaver, 58, of Meadville, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 28, 2017 at VNA Hospice Hospital, Butler following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 8, 1959 in Levittown, a son of the late Richard W. and Ruth Lou Boyd Weaver. He married Melissa Mattern September 18, 1993 and she survives.
Rick was a 1977 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School. He was a dedicated employee of PennDot for 29 years. He formerly enjoyed playing pool, basketball, golfing and bowling and especially traveling to Las Vegas with his pool league. An avid fan of dirt track racing, Rick was also a devoted animal lover.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer and church Elder.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Melissa, include a daughter, Emilie Weaver at home; a sister, Sharon Fuller and her companion Eric Esterly of Cambridge Springs; two nephews, Timothy Fuller and Matthew Fuller and his wife Marci; and his in-laws, Larry and Alice Mattern of Meadville.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 2nd from 4 to 8 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, 16864 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
