Robert 'Bob''s Story
Robert "Bob" E. Wheeler, 87, of Conneautville passed away Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community. He was born October 9, 1929 in Beaver Center, PA to the late Earl and Ethelyn (Hague) Wheeler. He married Lucille Calvin who preceded him in death in October 22, 2006.
He worked most of his life on his brothers' dairy farm in Linesville. He loved everything that was related to farming. He also worked several years for Conneautville Courier as a printer. He enjoyed family gatherings and watching his family grow. He was especially fond of his friend Ella and the two of them lived in FLA until recently when his health declined and he came back home to be nearer to his children.
Bob is survived by a very special friend Ella Rauscher of FLA; four daughters; Kathryn Griffin of Utica, PA, Karen (John) Hayes of FLA, Karla Wheeler of Dicksonburg and Kara (Rodney) Wood of Conneautville, 13 grandchildren; Lori (David) Ferry, N. Lee (Tonia) Smith, Michele (Kenneth) Scott, Michael Smith, Jennifer (Karl) Horn, Julie L. Smith, Bobbi Griffin, Eric Hayes, Theresa (Scott) Myers, James Payne, Nickolas Payne, Britney (Jeremy) Book and Tabatha Wood, 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a brother Gayle D. Wheeler, sister; Beverly Borde; a brother-in-law Henry Chiles and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by two children Keith Wheeler and Kelly Wheeler, a granddaughter Jodi Payne, a step-grandson Donald Griffin, a son-in-law Robert Griffin; brothers E.M. and Gerald Wheeler, and a sister Shirley Chiles.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Friday May 26, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at 6:00 PM. Pastor Eric Flint will officiate. All services will be held at the funeral home.
