Robert "Bob" Vicini passed away after a year of declining health, complicated by Alzheimer's at Solterra Senior Living in Chandler, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie (Scalise) Vicini and Louis Vicini, older brother Anthony Vicini and infant grandson N. Jim Whitaker III.
Bob is survived by his wife of 69 years, Priscilla (Highfield) Vicini and their three children: Howard Vicini of San Francisco, CA; Nancy Whitaker of Silverdale, WA; Robert "Buddy" Vicini (Jacky) of Gilbert, AZ; brother Donald Vicini (Doris) of Clarendon, PA and five generations of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a 50 year member of the American Legion. He served his country working at the Norfolk Naval yard building aircraft carriers and later, enlisted with the 54th Infantry. After the Army, he worked in Pennsylvania at the DIC as plant superintendent. After his retirement in 1982, he and Priscilla moved to Arizona and enjoyed traveling until illness prevented his driving.
The memorial service will be held at a later date.
