Ronald Lyle Ramey, age 77, of Saegertown, died at the Crawford County Care Center, Saturday, July 01, 2017, at 6:45 PM. He was born at the Meadville City Hospital, October 12, 1939 the son of the late Paul and Ethel Brown, Ramey. Ronald and Clara Beth Moore were married on December 05, 1959.
Ronald was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School, and also 1957 graduate of the Meadville Vocational Technical School; he also attended the Cambridge Springs Training School.
He was proud to have been a paper boy for the Erie Times in Meadville for 2 years; Worked in Sales for Firestone Tire in Meadville 1 year; for Penn Ohio Towel Company (Unsco), in Meadville, as a truck driver, salesman, and delivery man for 23 years; Call Tool in Meadville for 15 years; and Quality Building Service of Meadville for 1 year.
Survivors include: two daughters: Bonnie Swartzfager of Townville and Diana Malliard and her husband Kevin of Carlton; five grandchildren: Candice White and her husband Chris of Butler, Alison Myers and her husband Patrick of Meadville, Ronald and Benjamin Nageotte of Ohio and Elizabeth JoAnne Phillips and her husband Tyson of Saegertown; three great grandchildren, Kyra and Gabriella McCracken of Saegertown, Taylor Vaught Nageotte of Ohio: one sister Janet McKinney and her husband Albert of Meadville and one brother Fred Ramey and his wife Linda of Meadville, and his former son-in-law: Wilk Swartzfager of Townville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Delores Stewart, and a daughter, Rhonda (Ramey) Remington.
Ronald enjoyed participating in a bowling league, a shuffle board league; and hunting, gardening, playing guitars, harmonica, golf, fishing, water skiing, politics, and working with his hands.
Family and friends may call at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA on Wednesday from 1 PM until time of the funeral service at 3 PM with Pastor Tim Jordan, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Venango Cemetery.
