Ronald G. Rhoades, 69, of Greenwood Township (Geneva), died suddenly, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Meadville Medical Center. Born, September 26, 1948 in Meadville, he was the son of George and Margaret Miller Rhoades. He married Brenda Glancy on November 19, 1983 and she survives.
Ron was a 1967 graduate of Cochranton High School. Following graduation, he worked for the Meadville News Company and for over the past 20 years at Griffin Motors.
He was a member of the High St. Community Church in Conneaut Lake, enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions, and loved spending time with family. He also was a NY Yankee, Minnesota Viking, and Penn State Football fan.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 34 years include his children, Robert Rhoades (Tammy) of Meadville, Shawn Rhoades of Meadville, Heather Slide (Dan) of Pittsburgh and Justin Rhoades (Lane) of Cochranton. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister Evelyn Dietrich (Richard) of Meadville and a brother Gary Rhoades of Cochranton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Beatrice Miller and a brother, James Rhoades.
Friends and family will be received at the DICKSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 123 S. Franklin St. Cochranton on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 4-7Pm and also on Saturday from 10:00am until 11:00am when a Celebration of Life Service will be held with the Rev. Ryan Austie, Rev. William Fish and Rev. Ken Hough, officiating.
Interment will be in the Geneva Memorial Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made in Ron's name to the High St. Community Church, POBox 248, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
