Scott's Story

Scott H. Allen of Conneaut Lake, PA, known affectionately as "Scotty" or "Big Kahuna", passed away at UPMC Presbyterian on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Scotty, age 67, was born on November 12, 1950 to the late George Allen and Doris (Scott) Allen. He graduated in 1968 from Meadville Area Senior High, then served in the Army reserves during the Vietnam War. Scott retired from PennDot as a County Equipment Manager in 2007. He enjoyed drag racing his 1957 Chevys, serving as a member of classic Iron Car club of Meadville, and attending Sunday services at Trinity United Methodist Church. In the Fall of 2017 he was the winner of the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital Benefit Race at Thompson Raceway Park and recently raced at the Tri Five Nationals in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
On November 18, 2005 Scott married Jamie (Chapman) Allen in Linesville, PA. She survives him. Also surviving are his 3 Daughters; Crystal (Allen) Ridgell and her husband Rob of Ravenna, OH, Emily Jenkins and her husband Brad of Mercer, PA and Brittany Chapman of Los Angeles, CA. 2 Grandchildren; Drew and Tripp Jenkins. A Brother David Allen and his wife Lisa of Nashville, TN. 2 Nieces Sheila Silva and Ashley Allen and Nephew Luke Kane.
Scott is preceded in death by his late wife Kathy and his parents.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5PM until 8PM at Dickson Funeral Home, 130 N. Second St. Conneaut Lake, PA. An additional hour of calling will be on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 11AM until Noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 N. Third St. Conneaut Lake, PA 16316. The funeral will follow at Noon with the Rev. Jay Sterling and Pastor David Brumagin Officiating.
