Thornton's Story

Thornton J. Brown, 67, of Millcreek, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born on February 14, 1951 in Meadville, PA, son of the late Granville and Ruth (Ritchie) Brown.
Thornton (TJ), worked as an elementary school teacher in Pittsburgh, an Assistant Principal in the Erie School District and Principal at Erie Rise Leadership Academy Charter School. He had a strong faith and was an active member of the Erie Christian Fellowship Church. He had a passion for golf, working on cars and loved to spend time with family.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Brown and a brother, Glenn Daryl Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy J. (Eisenhauer) Brown; children, Melinda Lindsley, husband Jamie of Philadelphia, Michael Brown, wife Jennifer of Blue Bell, PA, Steven Brown of Erie and Jessica Brown of Erie; grandchildren, Mark Bico, Andrew Lindsley, Grace Lindsley, Carson Brown, Landon Brown and Juliette Brown; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Brown of Pineville, NC; and two aunts, Grace Ritchie Chance of Erie, PA, and Sandra L. Ritchie, of Meadville, PA and an uncle, Robert Ritchie, of Warren, PA; and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.
