Vernon Allen Baldwin, age 72, of Fairview, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family following an extended illness. He was born on December 18, 1944 in Lake City, PA, a son of Milton and Edna Heck Baldwin.
Vern worked at Bucyrus Erie and was a volunteer firefighter with Lake City Volunteer Fire Department. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed fishing, music and spending time at his church, Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church. Vern loved to make people smile and laugh, from the closest loved ones to every stranger he met.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Dennis Baldwin, Milton Baldwin and Gordon Baldwin.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Helen Baldwin (Yurasko); daughters, Helen Powers and husband David Powers, Melissa Baldwin, and Victoria Walter; three grandchildren, Katelyn Powers, Marlenna Godfrey, and Rick Godfrey; one sister, Nancy Horsemanko and husband Frank; a brother, Rick Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to call at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 25636 North Moisertown Road, Edinboro, PA on Friday, May 26th from 5-7 p.m. with a Panahida service following at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday morning, there will be an hour of visiting from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
