Walt was a wonderful, kind and loving man who seemed to always have time for his children as they were growing. I will cherish the nickname he gave me in my youth of “Mario Andretti “. No matter how grumpy I was he could always make me chuckle.
To his family, I pray that God lifts you up on Angels wings to help you through this most difficult of times. May he give you strength and courage to carry on.

First met this man in 1975 and was as friendly then as the last time we met. I could always hear him chugging along at the Walkerrun. To see him doing that makes you feel somehow your not doing enough. He was a great man.
