William Hoogstad, 91, of Linesville passed away peacefully Wednesday February 6, 2019 at the Marquette Hospice House. He was born on May 11, 1927 in Springboro, PA. to the late Gerrit and Margaretha (Heck) Hoogstad
He served our country during WWII in the United States Army. He retired from Kraft formerly Sealtest in 1989. Throughout his retirement he enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden. He was particularly proud of the tomatoes he grew and sharing them with his many friends. He was the Patriarch of his family, a strong devoted husband, father, friend and Neighbor.
He is survived by two daughters Sandra Acker (Larry) and Debbie Weindorf (Mark), two granddaughters Alexandra Deible (John), Jaymison Weindorf, and a great grandson Carter Deible and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three brothers Charles, John, and Edward, two sisters Mary Ann and Margaret.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday February 9, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McCauley Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville, PA 16406. The funeral service will begin following calling hours at 3:00 PM.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Marquette Hospice House and Meadville Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Marquette Hospice House 13465 N. Wayland Rd. Meadville, PA 16406.
