Sheila's Story

Sheila J. Nelson, 86, of Harmonsburg, passed away Sunday May 7, 2017 at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville. She was born January 14, 1931 in Meadville, PA 16335 to the late Carl and Ruby (Duncan) Loucks. She married Robert P. Nelson April 14, 1950. He preceded her in death December 12, 1988.
Sheila worked several different jobs over her lifetime, most notably was working alongside her husband on the family farm, working many years at the Meadville Livestock Auction and the Albro packing plant. She was a member of the Hickernell United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed going to the Meadville Senior Center, card parties and line dancing.
She is survived by four children; Janice (Garry) McCormick of Charlotte, NC, Rev. Dr. Christine Nelson of Allentown, PA, Connie Oliver of Meadville and Ralph (Terry) Nelson of Conneautville, five grandchildren; Jennifer (Jesse) Welcheck, Ralph Nelson Jr., Gregory (Amy) Oliver, Jared McCormick and Kayla McCormick, four great-grandchildren; Jaiden Welcheck, Jakob Welcheck, Austin Nelson, and Jemma McCormick and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Sheila is preceded in death by sisters Leota Stockton and Marleah Bishop, and a brother Carlyle "Bud" Loucks.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM at McCauley Funeral Home. Pastor Dixie Welker will be officiating.
