William 'Billy''s Story
William "Billy" Kimmel, 42, of Saegertown, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Sunday, July 30, 2017 after a three-month illness. He was born August 9, 1974 in Meadville, a son of Jean Newman-Kimmel of Albion and the late Allen "Bill" Kimmel. Billy graduated from Saegertown High School. He worked at Kimmel's Auto, Viking Tool & Gage and PTR Tool & Plastics. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family, and he was an amateur HAM Radio enthusiast, silent key KB3PLS. He was also a member of the ARRL.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laura Norton-Kimmel, whom he married July 10, 1999, two sons, Austin and Martin Kimmel, his mother, Jean Newman-Kimmel, a sister, Amanda (Dave) Rice, two brothers, Robert Kimmel, Paul Kimmel and his fiancé, Andrea Lasher, in laws Dan and Carol Norton, Dale and Mary Norton, Brian and Sandy Norton. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of a funeral service there at 7 p.m. Burial will be private by the family.
