Alice Pendleton Heald Bell
Alice Pendleton Heald Bell, 87, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at Harbour Senior Living of South Hills in Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family, where she had been a resident for the past 18 months. She was born February 12, 1929, in Meadville, PA to the late John and Jane Pendleton.
Alice attended Meadville area schools and graduated from Meadville High School in 1946. On June 20, 1953, she married Donald S. Heald who preceded her in death on October 29, 1972. On November 24, 1975, she married Leonard T. Bell who preceded her in death on October 14, 1992.
Alice was a mother and housewife enjoying gardening and the outdoors. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an associate member of the Franklin Elks Lodge for over 50 years participating in the women's bowling and golf leagues until her health declined. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and sporting events. Alice was a member of St. Patrick's Church, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Alice is survived by her two children, Jeffery Heald and wife, Pam, of Pittsburgh and Janet Miller and husband, Harry, of Franklin; five grandchildren, Lauren Heald, Adam Heald, and Anna Heald all of Pittsburgh, Matthew Miller of Franklin, Christopher Miller and wife Julie of Columbia, MD; and two sisters, Mary Jane Gerard and Frances Spinnato of Meadville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8 at St. Patrick's Church, 949 Liberty Street in Franklin. Interment will be held at the mausoleum at St. Brigid's Cemetery in Meadville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (www.alz.org), American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), or Heartland Hospice Services of Pittsburgh (www.heartlandhospice.com).
