Meadville, PA - Bernadette "Bonnie" Mailliard, 66, of Meadville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at her home.

Bonnie was born on December 6, 1958, a daughter of the late Edward and Flora (Frederick) Dayton.

On August 2, 1986, Bonnie married Dennis Mailliard; he preceded her in death on February 11, 2017.

She was a member of St. Agatha Church.

A 1977 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Bonnie was a long time and faithful employee of Meadville Medical Center from where she retired. Growing up, Bonnie had a love for the outdoors, fishing and camping with her family. Along with her brothers and nephews, she developed an interest in 4 wheeling and motor sports. After she and Dennis were married, they found themselves fishing every weekend. She had a deep love for all animals, especially dogs, and was a faithful volunteer of the Bark Park where she developed many close friendships. She found great pleasure in bringing her therapy dog, Rocky, to hospital patients, nursing home residents, school children, and many others and in turn, she brought pleasure to others.

Bonnie is survived by siblings Rose Smeltzer of Turtle Creek, George Dayton (Billie) of Monroeville, Ed Dayton (Kathy) of McKees Rocks, Ben Dayton (Denise), Paul Dayton (Lisa) both of Meadville; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs Rocky, Ginger, and Brandy.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dennis, of 30 years, Bonnie was preceded in death by a brother Ricky Dayton.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 AM-1 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, where Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with Fr. Jeff Lucas officiating.

Bonnie will be laid to rest with her husband, Dennis, in Denny Cemetery.
