Betty F. Alsdorf
Betty F. Alsdorf, 90, formerly of Cochranton and a resident of Arista Care in Meadville, died Thursday, March 28, 2019. Born, May 25, 1928 in Howard, PA. she was the daughter of Ira and Ruth Cox Gilbert. She married Charles Alsdorf on June 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1997.
She was a graduate of Bellefonte High School and also worked in the local hospital while in school.
Betty was a homemaker, was a member of the former Cochranton Order of the Eastern Star, bowled in the Cochranton Women's Bowling league and was an active member of the St. Mark's Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for several years.
Survivors include her sons, John Alsdorf and his wife Margaret and Charles Alsdorf of Cochranton and a daughter, Ruth Ann Hughes and her husband Dennis of Henderson, Nevada. A sister, Faye Fetzer and her husband Albert (Butch) of Bellefonte, two sisters in laws, Phyllis and Marg Gilbert of Howard, 6 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and John Gilbert.
Friends and family will be received at the DICKSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton on Saturday from 11:00am until 2:00pm when funeral services will begin with the Rev. Russell Hines of the St. Mark's Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Cochranton Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in Betty's name to the Barco Oncology Center. 16792 Conneaut Lake, Rd. Meadville PA.
