Cambridge Springs, PA - Betty Gallant, age 100, formerly of Cambridge Springs passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, after a long struggle with dementia. Betty was born on November 13, 1924, in Cambridge Springs, daughter of the late Roy and Mary Louise (Gallagher) Alexander. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and married William C. McIntyre of Brookville, PA in December 1942. He preceded her in death in December 1975. In April 1978, she wed John Gallant of Edinboro, PA. He preceded her in death in March 1998. Betty had been employed at General Electric in Erie and Golden Dawn grocery in Cambridge Springs. She enjoyed family and friends, her flower gardens and was a member of the Teepleville United Methodist Church, Rockdale Garden Club and The Red Hat Society.

Betty is survived by Douglas McIntyre (Susan), Michael McIntyre (Alice), Jeff McIntyre (Nina) her caregivers since 2009, Danielle Wilcox (Brian), John Gallant (Pam), Douglas Gallant (Diane) and half-brother Russell Shade, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother John Alexander, half-brothers Wesley Shade and James Shade, stepbrother William Shade and stepsister Corrine Kellogg and David Gallant.

Friends and family are invited to call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Friday, August 1, from 1 pm until time of the funeral service which will begin at 3 pm. Committal and interment will follow at Venango Cemetery. To send condolences please visit www.vanmatrefuneralhome.com.
