Meadville, PA - Charles "Chuck" P. Damico, Jr., 94, of Meadville, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at Edinboro Manor.

Chuck was born in Meadville on August 18, 1931, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Abbondanza) Damico, Sr.

On June 29, 1963, Charles married Betty Lou Applegate; she survives.

He was an active member of St. Mary of Grace Church where he volunteered to cook for the annual Columbus Day dinners, was an Altar server for funeral masses, and a member of the Holy Name Society.

While still in high school, Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 3, 1950, and served his country until his honorable discharge on March 25, 1953. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal Japan, Korean Service Medal, W/2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Inf. Badge Par #5, SO #123 HQ 187, RCT, Prcht & GLI Badge, PAR 1 SO 172, HQS TIC.

Following his discharge he attended the former Alliance College for a year before entering the workforce. A hard worker he retired from Joy Manufacturing, Franklin, as a machinist. He also drove school bus for Hubbard Bus for many years and provided transportation for Crawford County Human Services. Each passenger was like family. He volunteered as a football coach for Saegertown High School, was a charter member of the football boosters, parents and grandparents night, and will remembered for the countless spaghetti dinners he cooked as a fund raisers for the team. He was instrumental in the creation and completion of the veterans memorial in front of the Crawford County Courthouse. Chuck was a lifetime member of the ICC, a member of VFW Post #2006 and Knights of Columbus Council #388.

In addition to his wife, Betty, of 62 years, Chuck is survived by three children, Lee Damico of WI, Mary Damico, Patrick Damico (fiancee Jennifer Gray), both of Meadville; grandchildren Taylor Long (Dakota), Cody Damico (Tara); and great-grandchildren Grayson Long and Brandtley Damico.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, with praying of the Rosary at 6 PM.

Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville, at 10 AM on Friday, December 5, 2025, with Father Kyle Seyler, Parochial Vicar, and Father Joseph Kalinowski, officiating. Full Military Honors by WFW Post #2006 will follow.

Chuck will be laid to rest in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
