Clarence Leroy Anderson Obituary

Meadville, Pennsylvania - Clarence Leroy "Lee" Anderson, 80 of Meadville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Embassy of Park Avenue. He was born in McKean, PA on March 17, 1942, the son of the late Eric and Althea (Blystone) Anderson.

While attending classes at Edinboro State College, Leroy worked full time as a grocery store manager, which would become his life long vocation. He managed numerous privately owned grocery stores throughout Western Pennsylvania, and also operated his own IGA stores in McKean and Union City. He later managed stores for Quality Markets in Erie and Meadville where he also served on their management advisory teams.

Leroy was active in his community, serving as an officer and member of the Union City Lions Club, President of the Union City Sports Booster Club and served on the school board of the Union City School District. He coached Little League Baseball for many years and was a past director of the Union City Youth Center.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Anderson.

He is survived by three brothers, Dave (Helen) Anderson of Beaver Falls, PA, Jim Anderson of Erie, PA, and Don Anderson of McKean, PA; and a sister, Janet (Dennis) Casey of Erie, PA. He is also survived by his children, Chris (Robin) Anderson of Meadville, PA and Carrie McFarland of Covington, KY; 6 grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Anderson of Grand Rapids, MI; Lauren Anderson of Meadville, PA; Ingrid (Casey) Chapman of Nashville, TN; Andrew McFarland, Sophia McFarland and Bryce McFarland of Covington, KY, along with a great grandson Maxwell Anderson and a great granddaughter Catherine Anderson.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16233 State Highway 86, Saegertown at 12:00 noon on Wednesday June 8, 2022.
