Cochranton, PA - Gerald E. "Jerry" Vaughn, 91, of Cochranton, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at home.

He was born June 17, 1935, a son of Ralph and Martha McKinley Vaughn. He married Dema Rhoades July 5, 1958. She preceded him in death January 2, 2018, and they are together in heaven with Jesus.

Jerry retired from Talon Inc. after 40 years. He subsequently worked at Andover Industries and later was a delivery driver for Hovis Auto and Truck Supply. Jerry was a longtime member of Deckards Church.

He was an avid deer hunter and a fan of Pittsburgh Steelers football. He enjoyed his dog, Sparky.

Jerry is survived by three children, Geri Young of Meadville, Mark Vaughn of Conneaut Lake, and Judy Vaughn of Cochranton; two grandchildren, Tiffany Smith (Shawn) of Franklinville, N.Y., and Austin Young (significant other, Kelly Mangus) of Meadville; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Young, Shea Smith and J.T. Young; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Duane Young; and a sister, Janet Henry.

Jerry's family would like to express their thanks to his caregivers, Barb Monda and Meda Lawrence, and the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care they gave to him during the last year of his life.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 7/8/2026, from 1pm to 3pm at Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc. 123 South Franklin Street, Cochranton, PA. The funeral service will begin at 3 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Custard of Gentiva Hospice and Pastor Mike Stearns of Deckards Church presiding. Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery. A dinner following the funeral service will be held at New Beginnings Church, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Deckards Church, 28388 Deckards Road, Cochranton, PA 16314; or Gentiva Hospice, 1119 Park Ave. #7, Meadville, PA 16335.
