Harry Lawrence McGee
Harry (Larry) McGee of Saegertown, formerly of Conneautville, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Wednesday November 20, 2019 at the Erie Veterans Hospital. He was born September 11, 1945 in Akron, OH to the late Clarence and Harriet (McGeery) McGee. He married Patty Bonanno on June 15, 1990. She survives.
Larry served in the United States Navy and was on active duty during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He volunteered at Meadville Medical Center for 10 years as a Red Coat. He worked for Meadville Forge for more than 34 years. Larry loved every minute of the 11 years he served as track side chaplain at Raceway 7. He enjoyed the relationships he had with the race car drivers and owners. He was a member of the Conneautville Church of Christ and he loved all of his "brothers and sisters" there. He especially loved his Harley, going to dirt tracks to watch his sons' race and attending various events to support his grandchildren. He was the most kindest man and cared about everyone he knew and came in contact with. His smile and positive attitude were infectious and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Patty, Larry is survived by three sons, Mark (Jeannie) Wilson, Randy (Sarah) Wilson, Billy (Tara) Henry, six grandchildren Dylan, Brandon, Cody, Mikaela (Jake), Devin, and Marissa two great-grandchildren, Andre and Rylie, a brother Terry (Kay) McGee, sisters-in-law Lanny (Randy) First, Emma Bonanno, brother-in-law Tom (Cindy) Bonanno, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Samantha Crawford, a sister Beryl Kurta and a brother Jim McGee, parents in-law Andy and Alice Bonanno and brother-in-law Andy, Jr.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the nurses and staff on the fifth at the VA Hospital in Erie for their love and care of Larry.

Larry was a great great man who didn’t let his illness beat him down he wanted to make sure that he said the prayer every week at Raceway seven before we started in the pit and in the stands and he kept telling me he still wanted to do it so I let him do it ...he was one-of-a-kind whose friendship I will miss after being at Raceway seven all those years giving him my microphone..He even co-officiated my wedding with Donna at the racetrack
