Cochranton, PA - Margaret (Peggy) Mae Peterson, 88, formerly of Cochranton passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Born, February 11, 1938 in Meadville, she was the daughter of Emanuel and Margaret Williams Beringer. She married Virgil J. Peterson in June of 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Peggy graduated from Cochranton High School in 1955. She had been employed at the former Morco, Inc. in Cochranton, Spang in Sandy Lake and GTI in Hadley.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping, cooking and canning. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Meadville Moose and the Milledgeville Presbyterian Church.
Peggy is survived by her son Todd Peterson of Sandy Lake and numerous friends and classmates.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lauren and Brian Peterson, a brother, James Beringer and her parents.
As per Peggy's wishes, there are no calling hours. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Milledgeville Presbyterian Church at a day and time to be announced.
