Cambridge Springs, PA - Michael Eugene Boylan, age 68, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his residence after a six-year battle with Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia. Born on January 6, 1957, in Meadville, PA, Mike was the son of the late Harry and Gwendolyn (MacDuff) Boylan and a lifelong resident of Cambridge Springs. After graduating from Cambridge Springs Jr/Sr High School in 1974, he completed his apprenticeship and earned his journeyman's card as a toolmaker in the tool and die trade. His career spanned 45 years and included working at shops in Crawford and Erie Counties before retiring from Doutt Tool in Venango in 2019.
Mike married Cheryl (Foute) Boylan on June 24, 1995, and they celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. He enjoyed a quiet life at their house in Richmond Township. He loved spending time with his family, archery and rifle hunting, taking walks on his 53 acres of land, listening to music, supporting Cheryl's House of Hope ministry, and serving the Lord. As a teenager and young adult, he loved playing basketball and baseball. For several years, he raised white-tailed deer. Mike was a gracious, gentle, steady, and wise man, and everyone loved him.
Mike had three children: Tanya, Brandon, and Bradley. In marrying Cheryl, he gained a step-daughter, Amber. Surviving family members include wife Cheryl Boylan; children Tanya Thomas (fiancé Scott Duncan), Brandon Boylan, Bradley Boylan (Frankie), and Amber Foute; grandchildren Derek Thomas (Hayleigh), Andrew Thomas, Grace Thomas, Samuel Boylan, Gabby Burkey, James Boylan, Alyssa Wilcox (Noah), Skylar Adams, and Luke Adams; great-grandchildren Judah Kapaona, Lily Kapaona, and River Cosper; brothers Gary Boylan (Cindy), Robert Boylan (Bonnie), and Jeff Boylan (John); and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank the many people who helped take care of Mike in his final years, including Janet Ratell, Terri Jouver, Carol Bryant, Susan Szymkiewicz, Lisa Jackson, and the staff at Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of Venango County, especially spiritual counselor Greg Dill and nurse Phyllis Wetzel.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 AM, with a lunch to follow, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA) Church in Cambridge Springs. In Mike's honor, please consider a donation to Parkinson Partners of Northwest Pennsylvania, Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of Venango County, or House of Hope.
