Neva Belle Smith
Neva Belle Smith, formerly of Saegertown, passed away at Wesbury United Retirement Community on Saturday, January 11, 2020, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Meadville, PA, on June 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Floyd Stainbrook and Geraldine Reagle Stainbrook. She was married to Neil Jay Smith on November 4, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2007.
Through the years, Neva was an office manager for Smith Brothers Machine and Tool in Saegertown and an orthodontic assistant at her son's office, Dr. Douglas N. Smith, Orthodontist. In her pastime, Neva enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, dancing and socializing with her friends. Also, she loved walking and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter Norma J. Caretti and her husband Joe of Meadville; three sons Donald J. Smith of Sarasota, FL, Gary L. Smith and his wife Audrey of Saegertown, and Dr. Douglas N. Smith and his wife Deb of Saegertown. Six grandchildren; Bruce Lawrence and his wife Carolyn, Bill Lawrence and his wife Tara, Blair Lawrence and his wife Amy, Zachary Smith, Derek Smith, and Alexandria Mongera. Six great-grandchildren; Shannon Lawrence, Jenni Torok and her husband Doug, Jackson, Luke, Brett, and Brady Lawrence and one great-great grandson Reed Torok. One brother, Ronald Stainbrook and his husband Paul of Lemoyne, PA.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neil, sisters, Genevieve (Mona) Coulter and Ellen Terrell, and a brother Al Stainbrook and a special friend Rolland Muma.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wesbury for making her feel like they were part of her extended family.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 5pm to 8pm and Wednesday from 10am to 11am at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin Street Meadville, PA. The funeral will be at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Harry Nelson officiating.
Interment will be private at Greendale Cemetery.

Normy, Donny, Gary and Dougy: I'm so very sorry to here about your Mom. She was loved by all. Had a great heart. Made me feel like one of the extended family. She will be missed. We will try to get to a viewing but Ed is in Rolling Fields with dementia . But love from all the Edward and Linda Reagle Family. Jeff, Kim
