Norman Loyd Arbuckle
Loyd Arbuckle, 82, of Cochranton passed away on Wednesday, November 27, at his residence. He was born in Mercer County on July 10, 1937, the son of Clarence and Mildred Williams Arbuckle. Loyd graduated from Cochranton High School in 1955 and then married Bonnie Wentz on August 31, 1957. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2014.
Loyd was self employed as a carpenter, working with his father and then subsequently with Lewis Schaff and Louis Roche. He enjoyed 19 years going to the Oak Island, NC with the "Beach Bums" and also golfing in the Cochranton Mount Hope Golf League. He was of the Methodist faith. Loyd was a member of Station 4 Firehouse Grille and a 60-plus-year member of the Cochranton Lions Club. His hobbies included woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen McDonald and her husband, John, of Meadville; a sister Helen (Toot) Petrie of Virginia; and a brother Dave Arbuckle and his wife, Sandy ,of Cochranton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emily and Stacy Arbuckle, Cody and Christopher McDonald; and step grandchildren, Amber Adams, John Shaffer and Dana Shaffer; and step great grandchildren, Addie and Leah Adams, and Lucas Reimonald. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Julie Arbuckle of Cochranton; and a dear friend; Elwilda (Willie) Bell.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Kevin and Joe Arbuckle; and brothers, Howard, Wayne, and James Arbuckle.
Friends and family may call at the Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc., 123 South Franklin Street, Cochranton, PA on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
