Waterford, PA - Patricia L. Orris, nee Burns, age 91 of Waterford, PA passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at UPMC Hamot. Born December 19, 1933 to Kenneth and Althea (Emmel) Burns, she was the youngest of 7 children. After graduating in 1951 from Saegertown High School, Pat worked at Westinghouse, an office, and a Meadville furniture store. She married Edwin L. Orris July 14, 1956 in a quiet ceremony. They had 56 quiet, uneventful anniversaries, as she despised the spotlight and attention. He passed November 5, 2012.

Starting in 1975, Pat proudly served as church secretary at Asbury United Methodist Church in Waterford for over 32 years.

A devoted wife and homemaker, she sewed many clothes for herself and her daughters, and mended anything needing repairing. She embroidered some, but enjoyed counted cross stitch the most, working on her projects during the many car trips to Florida, Texas, and Arizona that she made with her husband to visit family and friends after his retirement. Many of the stories of the trips included how many miles or states it took to complete each part of the picture, which included taking out mistakes and re-stitching.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, K. Gerald (Betty) and John Burns (Jean); and sisters and brothers-in-law, Gene Perry (Joe), Dorothy Telliho (Johnny), Jessie Stainbrook (Wayne), and Bob Dillaman. Her sister Donna Dillaman survives. She is also survived by her 3 children- Paul Orris, Louise Altman, and Janet (Steve) Etheredge; 6 grandchildren- Miranda Etheredge, Andrew, Craig, and Phillip Orris, and Renee and Shane Altman; 6 great-grandchildren- Alastor, Phoenix, Scarlett, Sophia, Clayton and Adelaide Orris; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Monday, May 12th from 3-8pm. Funeral services will be at Asbury Global Methodist Church in Waterford on Tuesday at 11:00am.
