Robert Scott Eckert
Robert (Rob) Scott Eckert died after a brief battle with lung cancer at his home surrounded by family on January 17, 2020 in Meadville, PA at the age of 55.
Rob is survived by his father, Michael Raymond Eckert, 5 brothers: Michael Eckert, Walter Eckert, Richard Eckert, Lloyd Eckert, Charles Eckert; 6 sisters: Grace Hahn, Joann Roboski, Sandi Ceasar, Patti Owen, Beth Morrow, Julie-Marie Eckert; 16 nieces and nephews, and his favorite person, Katrina Griswold. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catharine Currie Eckert of Saegertown, PA.
Rob was born on June 15, 1964 in Meadville, PA. He graduated from Maplewood High School in 1983. Rob was an exceptional volleyball player and played trumpet in both marching band and concert band. Rob worked at Sandalini's for 23 years where he began as a waiter and worked his way up to assistant manager.
Rob was a loving uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a very talented cook and enjoyed sharing his meals with others. He enjoyed sewing, playing darts, watching sports, camping, spending time with friends and family, and doing arts and crafts with his niece and nephew. He was a generous and passionate individual who loved his family, friends, the Dallas Cowboys, and his cat.
A celebration of life dinner is scheduled for January 22, 2020 at West Mead 1 located at 10482 Liberty St., Meadville, PA from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. As Rob loved food, please bring your favorite dish to share as well as your favorite picture of Rob.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Crawford County Humane Society at 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd, Meadville, PA.
The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their efforts and care of Rob.

I went to school with Robert but didn't know him very well. But what I do know of him was, he was a Gentlemen's gentleman. Kind sweet and will be missed.

Rob and Mike Emig and myself played volleyball together. He was an amazing athlete of great skill and love of the game, a great friend and a lovely man. God willing til we meet again at that great vb court in heaven. Love you!

Rob was such a fun guy, and a blast to be around. I'll never forget all the crazy and fun volleyball tournaments we played together as well as the drives to and from them... chev er rev er, we will miss you my friend

I will never forget the long talks we had at Otters and your kind heart that always listened to me. Seeing your posts with your niece and nephew was always a blessing to me because it showed me that family is always important. I love you and you will be missed.

My heart goes out to my Uncle, cousins and friends of Robbie... I will miss his wonderful sarcasm, wit, attitude and charm..his love of the Dallas Cowboys, delicious dishes how he always kept his dad straight, his crazy & funny Facebook posts, all the fun and catching up at our Family Reunions and his beautiful (although mischievous at times) smile... Rest In Peace dear cousin... till we meet again❤️
