Robert E. Spaid
Robert E. Spaid, 87, of Meadville, passed away on December 10, 2019 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born April 9, 1932 in Woodcock Township, PA to the late Charles G. Spaid and Laura Ewing Spaid. He graduated from Meadville High School in 1950 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served for two years in Trieste, Italy. Robert married Betty Galford on May 28, 1955.

He was employed as a truck driver for 34 years by Wickes Lumber, Saegertown.

Robert's passion was working on the family farm. He truly enjoyed making hay, and planting/harvesting crops. He also was an avid deer hunter and especially enjoyed hunting with his father in earlier years.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by a daughter, Darlene Spaid of Exton, PA; a son, Kenneth Spaid of Erie, PA; a sister, Betty Galford of Meadville; a brother Merle Spaid (Mary) of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Doris Tanner of Meadville; a brother-in-law, Phil Galford (Jean) of Townville; a brother-in-law, Gene Galford (Laverne) of Townville; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his three cats.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Spaid.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 12th from 6-8 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13th at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Robert's niece, the Rev. Dr. Sharon L. Mook officiating and military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.

Burial will be at Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
