Robert Clay Stephenson (Bob) Obituary
Robert Clay Stephenson passed away on August 13, 2024, in Columbia, SC. Bob was born to the late Martha L. (Clay) and Leroy V. Stephenson on September 21, 1938, in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Meadville High School (1956) and Allegheny College (1962), where he met his wife, the late Judith R. Trohaugh. Bob enjoyed a successful career in commercial real estate and economic development in Pittsburgh, where he and Judy raised their family and enjoyed many warm friendships, golf outings, and weekends in the Laurel Mountains. He is survived by his brother Jim (Carolyn), his children Scott (Donna), Eric (Lisa), and Cyndi, and seven grandchildren. The descendant of many early families of Crawford County, and generations of farmers and railroaders, Bob always felt blessed by his small-town upbringing. Memorial gifts may be made to the Crawford County Historical Society or the French Creek Valley Railroad Historical Society. A private celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
