Edinboro, Pennsylvania - Ronald E. Deutsch, 78, of Edinboro, formerly of Cochranton, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at his home. He was born in Erie on January 18, 1946, the son of the late Charles and Katherine Deutsch.
Ron graduated from Girard High School and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam (1966-68). He was an independent insurance adjuster for many years, with multiple certifications through Mid Atlantic Toyota.
Ron was a fan of all Pennsylvania sports teams and a fixture at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed fishing and camping and being outdoors. He was a scout leader and scoutmaster for many years and a member of American Legion Post #836. He was also known for making the best pineapple upside down cake!
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Thereasa Mulligan; a brother, Charles Deutsch; 2 sisters, Anna Erven and Ruth Gibson; and a son-in-law, Gary Moore Lewis.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Dianne Deutsch; 2 sons, Ronald Deutsch, II (Blair Borkowski) of Kenai, AK and Martin (Tammy) Deutsch of Edinboro; 3 daughters, Stacey (Mike) Lewis of McKean, Alisha (Jay) McGill of Union City, and Elizabeth Deutsch (Terry Peirce) of Erie; a brother, Frank Deutsch of Texas; 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm.
