Cambridge Springs, PA - Virginia Ann Docter, 90, of Cambridge Springs passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Edinboro Manor. Virginia was born in Meadville, on April 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Victor Smith Hart and Evelyn Neff Hart. She graduated with the class of 1953 from Cochranton High School. On February 14, 1955, she married the love of her life, John Russell Docter. She and John were the fourth generation to operate the Docter family dairy farm in Millers Station. Virginia and John began motorcycling in the early 1980s and were active members of the Erie Motorcycle Club and the Retreads Motorcycle Club for over forty years. Together they rode to the forty-nine continental states and many parts of Canada. Virginia enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, gardening, and canning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John R. Docter on October 22, 2020, her son John V. Docter on October 16, 1997, and her brother Harold Hart.
Survivors include daughter Nancy Styer and her husband Peter of Frewsburg, NY, son Dale Docter of Cambridge Springs, daughter-in-law Kim Docter of Cambridge Springs, grandchildren Morgan Styer, Jesse Styer and his wife Katie, Kristopher Docter, Blake Docter and his wife Amanda, Calvin Docter and his wife Kenzie, Emily Docter, and Alandis Docter, eight great grandchildren, and brother Guy F. Hart.
Friends are invited to call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Thursday, July 3rd from 5 pm until the time of funeral service at 7 pm. Interment at Rockdale Cemetery in Millers Station.
